2007 Brighton Area UKBG/Sputnik National Cocktail Competition Brighton Heat

The Brighton UKBG/Sputnik heat was won by Andy Pearson (above) from Intoxiogoly
with his cocktail, Spirit of 57.

In second place (above) was Alessandro Bisconti from Lainston House Hotel, Winchester, with his cocktail, Caribbean Mirror.

In third place was Oscar Tornell from Above Audio, Brighton, with his cocktail, Punsey Rose.

The night was imbued with tension as the competition began. According to eye-witnesses, it was very much an intense competition with thirty-one bartenders from the region and also from Scotland and London. A relaxed and chilled ambience for the observers hid the reality of the night: each person was there TO WIN!

The Usual Suspects celebrate the night's intense competition.

Some of the gang of supporters in good spirits.

Bartenders representing the hotels were dressed in their finery (and there are a lot of hotels in this region – try walking along Brighton’s seafront and counting the signs!), while the style bar contendes wore the global uniform of jeans and a T-shirt.

The winner, Andy Pearson, from London, is a consultant and television presenter on BBC2. His next challenge is the final, to be held in London in September.

Other Qualifies for the grand final in London are:

Orlando Garcia from the Royal Crescent Hotel Bath

Salvatore Domino from Carey’s Manor New Forest

Fabio Santucci from Brighton

The Technique winner was Massimiliano Romano from the Queens Hotel Cheltenham. The wild card was John Cant with Sputnik Passion.
