The Mandarine Napoleon National Cocktail Competition Final

This event was held in Edinburgh at the SLTH Bar Show on March 29. Sponsored by Cellar Trends, this was a fantastic battle of North versus South, with some delicious drinks tempting the judge’s palates.

The UKBG Scottish area would like to thank their sponsors and everyone who helped make the occasion extra special.

The winner was Sean Casser of Richmond Hill Hotels who created Aphrodisiac; Davide Trupia of Manor House Hotel in second place with his creation, Mandarine Imperial, and Orlando Santana of the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath taking third place with his cocktail, Fantasy.

Aphrodisiac

Blue curacao, Grand Marnier Rouge, dry Martini, champagne and Mandarine Napoleon in a cocktail glass with a garnish of passionfruit and redcurrants.

Mandarine Imperial

Mandarine Napoloen, crème de peche, maraschino liqueur, Angostura bitters and Canada Dry in a Martini glass and a garnish of kumquats and a cherry.

Fantasy

Mandarin Napoleon, Absolute vodka, orange juice, syrup d’orgeat in a Martini glass and a garnish of kumquats.

Of Danesfield House Hotel withThe Flamingo, Mandarine Napoleon, vodka, orange, grapefruit juice, syrup Vedrene in an old fashioned glass, garnished with a raspberry and pineapple.

Yvonnick Castel

Of Danesfield House Hotel with Lysine, a mix of Mandarine Napoleon, combined orange, lemon and carrot juice, dark rum and fresh lemon juice in an old-fashioned glass with a garnish of lemon, lime and orange.

Tiziano Orsini

Of Lainston House Hotel with Mandalove, a mix of vodka, Mandarin Napoloen, limoncello, fresh passionfruit, orange bitters in a Martini glass, garnished with a red cherry and a slice of star fruit.

Massimiliano Romano

Of Lainston House Hotel with Titti, a combination of vodka, fresh orange juice, Mandarine Napoleon, dry vermouth in a Martini glass with a garnish of orange.

Pascal Aguilar of Pennyhill Park Hotel with Fuzion, a mix of Mandarine Napoloen, Havana Club rum, Galliano and fresh double cream in a Martini glass, garnished with zest of orange and vanilla seeds.

Fubiana Morgan

Of Pennyhill Park Hotel with Emperor, a combination of Mandarine Napoleon, Auchentochan Malt whisky, vanilla syrup, grapefruit juice in a Martini glass, garnished with a slice of star fruit.

Massimo Lisi

Of L’ Aperitf Stranrear with Amber Nectar, a combination of Mandarine Napoloen, Green Ginger wine, honey, Absolute Citron vodka and Grouse liqueur in a Martini glass.
