Ramos Fizz

  • 5cl gin
  • 1cl fresh lime juice
  • 1cl fresh lemon juice
  • 3 dashes orange flower water
  • 1 teaspoon eggwhite powder
  • 5cl double cream
  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
  • soda water

Pour all ingredients, except soda, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Top up with soda. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Raspberry Martini

  • 5cl vodka
  • 1cl crème de framboise (raspberry liqueur)
  • 10 fresh raspberries

Put the raspberries in the bottom of a shaker. Muddle. Add the vodka and crème de framboise. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with raspberries.

Raspberry Lynchburg

  • 6cl Tennessee whiskey
  • 2cl crème de framboise (raspberry liqueur)
  • 2cl fresh lime juice
  • 1cl gomme syrup
  • lemonade

Pour all ingredients, except lemonade, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top up with lemonade. Stir gently.

Rattlesnake

  • 2cl Kahlua
  • 2cl white crème de cacao
  • 2cl Irish cream liqueur

Pour each ingredient, in the order listed, over the back of a barspoon into a shot glass.

Razzamatazz

  • 3cl crème de framboises (raspberry liqueur)
  • 1.5cl crème de cassis (black-currant liqueur)
  • 1.5cl coffee liqueur
  • hot coffee
  • whipped cream

Pour the liqueurs into a heatproof toddy glass. Add the coffee. Stir. Top up with whipped cream. Garnish with a few small blackberries.

Red Earl

  • 5cl vodka
  • 2 to 3 slices fresh gingerroot
  • handful fresh raspberries
  • 2cl limoncello

Slice the fresh gingerroot thinly. Place in the shaker. Muddle firmly with the end of the barspoon. Add the raspberries, limoncello, and vodka. Then add ice cubes. Shake to let all flavors combine well. Strain into a goblet. Garnish with two raspberries and a sprig of mint on a cocktail stick across the glass.

Red-Eyed Shooter

  • 5cl frozen vodka
  • 1cl crème de cassis

Pour the vodka into a shot glass. Pour the cassis over the back of a barspoon into the vodka to form an eye.

Red Sky

  • 3cl Campari
  • 3cl vodka
  • 3cl fresh orange juice

Pour all ingredients into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Stir. Garnish with a twist of orange dropped in the drink.

Reef Juice

  • 5cl rum
  • 2cl vodka
  • 3cl crème de bananas (banana liqueur)
  • 2cl fresh lime juice
  • 6cl pineapple juice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake

Remember the Maine

5cl bourbon

2cl sweet vermouth

2cl cherry brandy

2cl Pernod

dash orange bitters

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Ridley

  • 3cl silver tequila
  • 3cl gin
  • dash Galliano

Pour all ingredients into an old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Stir. Serve with a stirrer.

Rising Sun

  • 3cl sake
  • dash wasabi
  • dash soy sauce
  • dash Tabasco sauce
  • tomato juice

Pour all ingredients, except tomato juice, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top up with tomato juice. Stir. Garnish with a sprig of parsley.

Ritz Old-Fashioned

  • 6cl bourbon
  • 2cl Grand Marnier
  • 1cl maraschino liqueur
  • 2cl fresh lemon juice
  • 1 sugar cube
  • dash Angostura bitters
  • soda water (optional)

Rub a wedge of lemon around the rim of an old-fashioned glass. Dip it in a saucer of caster sugar.

Place the sugar cube in the glass and add the bitters. Shake other ingredients, except soda, in a shaker with ice. Strain into the glass, filled with ice. Top up with soda if you like. Stir. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of lemon on a cocktail stick.

Road Runner

  • 4cl vodka
  • 2cl amaretto
  • 2cl coconut cream

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Rob Roy

  • 4cl Scotch
  • 4cl sweet vermouth
  • 1 to 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of orange for extra zest! Or use a maraschino cherry.

Rockwell Iced Tea

  • 5cl bourbon
  • 10cl hibiscus tea
  • 1 to 2 slices fresh gingerroot
  • cinnamon
  • cloves

Infuse tea with cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Place it on the stovetop to warm. When the tea is hot, strain it in a shaker. Add bourbon and ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Garnish with a wedge of lime.

Rose

  • 3cl kirsch
  • 3cl dry vermouth
  • dash grenadine

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a rose petal dropped into the drink.

Rude Cosmopolitan

  • 5cl gold tequila
  • 1.5cl triple sec/Cointreau
  • 3cl cranberry juice
  • 1.5cl fresh lime juice

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of orange.

Russian Spring Punch

To make in bulk, multiply the ingredients by the number of guests.

  • 6cl vodka
  • 2cl fresh lemon juice
  • 2cl crème de cassis (black currant liqueur)
  • 2cl gomme syrup
  • champagne

Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top up with champagne. Garnish with two raspberries and a slice of lemon on a cocktail stick set across

the glass.

Rusty Nail

  • 6cl Scotch
  • 3cl Drambuie

Pour the Scotch into an old-fashioned glass with ice. Add the Drambuie and stir. Garnish with a twist of lemon.
