A A 1824
- 2cl vodka
- 2cl Mandarine Napoléon
- 1cl marsala
- 3cl mandarin juice
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of mandarin, a spiral of lime, and a Cape Gooseberry set on the rim.
Abbey
- 4cl gin
- 3cl fresh orange juice
- 2cl maraschino liqueur
- 1cl dry vermouth
- 4 drops Angostura bitters
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Absolero
- 3cl blackcurrant vodka
- 3cl lemon vodka
- 3cl melon liqueur
- 2cl fresh lime juice
- 2cl powdered egg white
- soda water
Pour all ingredients except soda water, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top up with soda. Stir. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
Absolute Love
- 3cl lemon vodka
- 1.5cl Pisang Ambon liqueur
- 1.5cl limoncello
- 1.5cl fresh lemon juice
- bitter lemon
Pour all ingredients, except bitter lemon, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Top up with bitter lemon. Add a stirrer and serve with a straw. Garnish with a slice of star fruit.
Acapulco
- 3cl gold tequila
- 3cl gold rum
- 5cl fresh grapefruit juice
- 10cl pineapple juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple.
Adam and Eve
- 6cl bourbon
- 1cl Galliano
- 4 dashes Angostura bitters
- dash gomme syrup
- soda water
Half-fill an old-fashioned glass with ice. Add the gomme syrup, bitters, bourbon, and Galliano. Stir. Top up with soda. Stir.
Adieu
- 6cl cognac
- 3cl Grand Marnier
- 1cl vanilla liqueur
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of orange.
Affinity
- 3cl Scotch
- 3cl sweet vermouth
- 3cl dry vermouth
- dash Angostura bitters
Pour both vermouths into a mixing glass with ice. Add the Scotch and Angostura bitters. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass. Add a twist of lemon.
After Six
- 2cl coffee liqueur
- 2cl white crème de menthe
- 2cl Irish cream liqueur
Pour each ingredient, in the order listed, over the back of a barspoon directly into a shot glass.
Alabama Fizz
- 6cl gin
- 3cl fresh lemon juice
- dash gomme syrup
- soda water
Pour all ingredients, except soda, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball with ice. Top up with soda. Garnish with a wedge of lemon in the drink.
Alaska
- 5cl gin
- 2cl yellow Chartreuse
- 2 dashes orange bitters
Stir the gin, Chartreuse, and bitters in a mixing glass until completely mixed. Strain into a cocktail glass. (Some recipes recommend shaking this drink, but this gives a cloudy effect to the drink.)
Alba Rosso
- 6cl tequila
- 6cl cranberry juice
- dash gomme syrup
- 3 lime wedges, diced
- 6 sprigs fresh mint
Muddle the mint, lime wedges, and the gomme syrup in a shaker. Add the tequila, cranberry juice, and ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint. Serve with a straw.
Alcazar
- 2cl apricot purée
- 2cl vodka
- dash apricot liqueur
- champagne
Pour all ingredients, except champagne, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a champagne flute. Top up with champagne. Stir. Garnish with a wedge of fresh apricot.
Alexander No. 1
- 3cl gin
- 3cl white crème de cacao
- 3cl double cream
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Sprinkle a fine layer of nutmeg on top of the drink - just enough to get the aroma of the nutmeg. It shouldn't overpower the flavour of the drink.
Alexander No. 2
- This is the 1920s pale relation to a Brandy Alexander made with brown crème de cacao.
- 3cl brandy
- 3cl white crème de cacao
- 3cl double cream
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Alexander's Sister
- 3cl gin
- 3cl green crème de menthe
- 3cl double cream
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint on the side of the glass.
Alfonso
- 3cl Dubonnet
- 1 sugar cube
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- champagne
Place the sugar cube in the champagne flute and soak with Angostura bitters. Add the Dubonnet. Top up with champagne. Stir. Add a twist of lemon.
Algonquin
- 6cl rye whisky
- 4cl extra dry vermouth
- 4cl pineapple juice
- 4 dashes Peychaud bitters
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
All Fall Down
- 1.5cl coffee liqueur
- 1.5cl gold tequila
- 1.5cl dark rum
Pour each ingredient, in the order listed, over the back of a barspoon directly into a shot glass.
Amalfi Dream
- 5cl vodka
- 2cl limoncello
- 1cl fresh lemon juice
- 4 to 5 fresh mint leaves
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass, letting mint fragments slip through to create a layer on top of the drink. Garnish with a spiral of lemon.
Amaretto Sour
- 5cl amaretto
- 2cl fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon eggwhite powder
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
Ambassador
- 3cl white rum
- 1cl apple schnapps
- 2 dashes passionfruit liqueur
- 3cl cranberry juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Amber Cloud
- 4cl cognac
- 2cl Galliano
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass with crushed ice. Serve with a straw.
Americano
- 3cl Campari
- 3cl sweet vermouth
- soda water
Pour the sweet vermouth, then the Campari into a highball filled with ice. Garnish with lemon and orange twists. Soda is optional-but for summer, it gives the drink its freshness.
American Beauty
- 2cl brandy
- 2cl extra dry vermouth
- 2cl fresh orange juice
- 1.5cl ruby port
- dash white crème de menthe
- dash grenadine
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a wine glass.
American Fizz
- 2cl banana purée
- 2cl pineapple juice
- 2cl dark rum
- champagne
Pour all ingredients, except champagne, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a champagne flute. Top up with champagne. Stir. Garnish with a slice of banana.
American Flag
- 2cl crème de fraises (strawberry liqueur)
- 2cl Cointreau
- 2cl vodka
- dash blue curaçao
Pour the crème de fraises into a shot glass. Float the Cointreau over the back of a barspoon. Then, pour the vodka and the curaçao in a mixing glass. Stir to make it blue then float over the Cointreau.
Amour Sanglant (Bloody Love)
- 4cl cognac
- 2cl cherry brandy
- 1cl vanilla liqueur
- 7cl fresh blood-orange juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a wine glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Añejo Highball
- 4cl añejo rum
- 1.5cl orange curaçao
- 1.5cl fresh lime juice
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 12cl ginger beer
Fill a highball with ice cubes. Pour the spirits in first, then add the ginger beer. Stir. Garnish with a slice of lime.
Angel Dream Special
- 1.5cl vodka
- 1.5cl white crème de cacao
- 1.5cl apple schnapps
- 2cl double cream
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Grate nutmeg over the top of the drink.
Angel's Dream
- 3cl maraschino liqueur
- 3cl Parfait Amour
- 3cl cognac
Pour the maraschino into a liqueur glass. Float the Parfait Amour over the back of a barspoon, and then the cognac.
Angel Face
- 3cl gin
- 3cl apricot brandy
- 3cl calvados
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Angel's Tit
- 4cl maraschino liqueur
- 2cl double cream
Pour the maraschino into a liqueur glass and float the cream on top. Garnish with a maraschino cherry in the middle of the creamy top.
Angel's Wing
- 3cl white crème de cacao
- 3cl prunelle brandy
- dash double cream
Pour the white crème de cacao over a barspoon into a liqueur glass, followed by the prunelle brandy. Float the cream over the top to finish.
Anouchka
- 9cl vodka
- 1cl crème de mûre (blackberry liqueur)
Pour the vodka and crème de mûre into a mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass. The drink will be a clear and delicate lilac color.
Apothecary Cocktail
- 3cl Fernet Branca
- 3cl white crème de menthe
- 3cl Punt e Mes
Pour all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Apple Blow Fizz
- 1cl apple schnapps
- 1cl cranberry juice
- champagne
Pour the schnapps and juice into a champagne flute. Stir. Top up with champagne. Stir. Garnish with a small wedge of green apple.
Apple Car Martini
- 3cl calvados
- 3cl triple sec/Cointreau
- 2cl fresh lemon juice
- 1cl gomme syrup
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Apple Colada
- 4cl white rum
- 2cl apple schnapps
- 3cl coconut cream
- 7cl apple juice
- half teaspoon caster sugar
- half apple, peeled
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend for 10 seconds. Add a scoop of crushed ice and blend again until smooth. Pour into a colada glass. Garnish with a wedge of apple in a fan shape, and a maraschino cherry on a cocktail stick. Serve with a straw.
Apple Daiquirí
- 5cl white rum
- 2cl apple schnapps
- 1.5cl cinnamon schnapps
- 1.5cl fresh lime juice
- dash gomme syrup
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a wedge of apple.
Apple Martini
- 6cl vodka
- 2cl apple sour liqueur
- 1cl Cointreau
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with apple slices.
Aquamarine
- 3cl vodka
- 2cl peach schnapps
- 1cl blue curaçao
- 1cl Cointreau
- 10cl clear apple juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Garnish with a slice of star fruit. Serve with a straw.
Atlantic Breeze
- 4cl white rum
- 1.5cl apricot liqueur
- 7cl pineapple juice
- 1.5cl fresh lemon juice
- 1cl Galliano
Pour all ingredients, except Galliano, into a highball filled with ice. Stir well. Float the Galliano on top. Garnish with a slice of orange.
Atomic Dog
- 2cl melon liqueur
- 2cl coconut rum
- 2cl white rum
Pour melon and coconut liqueurs into a shot glass. Stir, then carefully float the rum over the top.
Avalanche I
- 3cl crème de bananes (banana liqueur)
- 1.5cl white crème de cacao
- 1.5cl amaretto
- 3cl double cream
- half banana, peeled
Pour all ingredients into a blender with crushed ice. Blend. Pour into an
old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of banana.
Avalanche II
- 2cl coffee liqueur
- 2cl white crème de cacao
- 2cl whisky liqueur
Pour each ingredient, in the order listed, over a barspoon into a shot glass.
Avalon
- 4cl vodka
- 1cl green banana syrup
- 1.5cl fresh lemon juice
- 6cl apple juice
- lemonade
Pour all ingredients, except lemonade, into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a highball filled with ice. Then, top up with lemonade. Stir. Garnish with a spiral of cucumber peel and a cherry. Serve with a straw
Aviation Two
- 5cl vodka
- 3cl maraschino liqueur
- 2cl fresh lemon juice
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry in the drink and a twist of lemon.
