Level 2 National Certificate for Personal License Holders

 

Objectives

To provide anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol to the public with a nationally accredited personal license.

What’s included?

The usual fee is £150 but the UKBG offers a 10% discount so the fee is £135 — which includes course materials and the exam fee. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided throughout the day.

Course Content

The BIIAB NCPLH covers the syllabus set by government to enable candidates to understand the law in relation to:

· The roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities within the framework of the licensing objectives

· The application process for a personal license

· The role & legal responsibilities of the personal license holder, and the penalties relating to failure to comply with the law

· The premises license

· The content and purpose of operating schedules

· The role and duties of the designated premises supervisor

· Unauthorized and temporary licensable activities

· Rights of entry to licensed premises

· Police powers with regard to suspension and closure of licensed premises

· The specific prohibitions for the sale of alcohol

· The strengths of alcoholic drinks, and the effects of alcohol on the human body

· The protection of children from harm

· The responsible retail sale of alcohol

Course Structure

This one-day course includes lectures by a trained tutor. Delegates are encouraged to actively participate in discussion sessions and group activities.

Examination

The training is followed (usually on the same day) by a multiple-choice examination of 40 questions, which is sat in 40 minutes. To pass and obtain the certificate the candidate must achieve a minimum of 28 correct answers. Training is supported by the BIIAB NCPLH handbook. This handbook is written in easy-to-follow steps and contains all the information needed to pass the exam.

Course duration

Minimum 6 hours long.
